PHYSICAL THERAPIST
DRY NEEDLING
Julia’s interest in physical therapy began over a decade ago while helping her yoga students modify their practice so they could continue moving safely while recovering from injuries. She brings this background into her clinical work, combining physical therapy with extensive experience as a yoga instructor (RYT500, E-RYT, RPYT) to help patients move more efficiently and return to the activities they love.
Julia takes a holistic approach to care, recognizing that many physical problems are interconnected. She strives to provide inclusive, trauma-informed, and gender-affirming care while empowering patients to actively participate in their recovery. Julia has a special interest in hypermobility syndromes, including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS, hEDS), and enjoys helping patients build joint stability, prevent recurrent injuries, and safely return to higher-level activities. She also specializes in sports injuries, climbing injuries, and return-to-running programs. Her experience with treatments for knee pain make her an expert at helping people with ACL, meniscus, IT band, and patellofemoral issues.
Julia graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and has continued to advance her training with a certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling (CMTPT/DN) through Myopain Seminars, and Functional Manual Therapy training through the Institute of Physical Art. She frequently incorporates dry needling in the treatment of rotator cuff injuries, neck pain, sciatica, and low back and hip pain.
In addition to her clinical work, Julia has over 10 years of experience in yoga, skiing, and windsurfing. Outside the clinic she teaches yoga (yin, vinyasa, foundations, and prenatal), plays bass, and partner dances blues and salsa. Julia is fluent in Polish and Spanish.
