PHYSICAL THERAPIST

ORTHOPEDIC RESIDENCY TRAINED

Jess is passionate about orthopedic physical therapy and performing arts rehab. She began her journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she developed a strong foundation in ballet, modern, and musical theatre. Her early career included teaching dance and exploring performance in theatre and circus arts, experiences that continue to shape her unique approach to physical therapy.

She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore and later pursued her passion for rehabilitation by completing an Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency through Johns Hopkins Hospital and George Washington University. During her residency, Jess served as adjunct faculty for the GW Doctor of Physical Therapy students, assisting in lab sessions and delivering lectures on post-surgical rehabilitation throughout the academic year.

Jess’s clinical expertise lies in orthopedics, running rehab, and performing arts rehabilitation, with a special focus on dancers and circus artists. She has also contributed to the profession through research, presenting a poster at the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting titled “Injury Characteristics and Management Strategies for Circus Artists.”

Outside of the clinic, Jess stays active and inspired by training on aerial silks, watching musicals, reading, and running.
