PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPIST

Alissa is a queer- and trans-affirming Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist (PFPT) dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to patients of all gender identities. They earned their Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Maryland–Baltimore and have pursued advanced clinical training through the Indigo Physiotherapy Mentorship Program and continuing education with the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute and the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health Physical Therapy.

Before specializing in pelvic health, Alissa worked across a range of physical therapy settings, from pediatrics to sports rehabilitation. When caring for patients with orthopedic conditions, they integrate pelvic health principles and breath work to support whole-body healing. Alissa uses a weight-neutral, body-affirming approach to rehabilitation, working with clients of all body sizes to help them feel more at home in their bodies—whatever that means for them.

Alissa has a special interest in working with:

  • Clients navigating bladder or bowel concerns

  • People looking to improve pelvic comfort during sexual activity (poly- and kink-affirming)

  • Pregnant and postpartum clients of all genders

  • Individuals seeking safer, more comfortable daily movement

  • Queer and trans clients

  • Performance artists and recreational athletes

With a movement background in gymnastics, acrobatics, and partner dance, Alissa brings a deep appreciation for the body’s capacity for expression and resilience. Outside the clinic, they enjoy exploring Baltimore with their wife and young children. Alissa is also proficient in Spanish.
